Tell us a little about yourself and what made you start a blog?
My name is Eline, and I am 28 years old. I have 2 young boys and I’m married to Christian. I’m currently studying to become a teacher, which is very different from what I work on in my spare time.
I started my blog back in April 2013. I had a Facebook page, where I shared different things that caught my interest, and it was primarily meant for me to share with my friends, but it grew beyond that and after that the demand for a blog increasingly became bigger. It took me half a year before I actually dared to jump into blogging. And I knew absolutely nothing about the world that came with being a blogger. But it was undoubtedly my passion for fashion that made me start in the first place.
How does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day at home can start from everything between 6:30 and 7:30, where we usually get the boys ready and sent off to school after that I usually to go to class or work from home.
On the average day I usually spend 5-6 hours on my blog – either in front of the screen or by taking pictures, editing, etc. I spend a lot of hours on my blog, and probably a lot more time than I do on my studies, but it’s what drives me and earns me money, so I just work extra hard on it.
What is a surprising part of your job that you think will surprise others?
I think it’s a surprise to many how much work I really put in one post. How much time it really takes to put it all together. Whether that’s just something simple as an outfit post or a campaign for a client. It takes a lot more time than people might think.
Where do you get your greatest fashion inspiration (fashion magazines, social media, street scene) and why right there?
It without doubt comes mainly from Instagram, but also from my friends and street styles. It is very inspiring for me to see how people interpret differently. We may have the same blouse, but my way of styling it on vs. A friend can be so incredibly different. And that’s something that gives me a lot of inspiration.
In addition, designers’ interpretations of seasons are also something I find incredibly inspiring. And I’m practically glued to the screens when Fashion Week season arrives. I follow both social media and on various other platforms.
How long do you usually spend on an outfit in the morning?
Haha – it varies a lot. Often I choose the outfit the night before, so I don’t have to spend too much time on it in the morning. Also because I can be incredibly indecisive in the morning. But fortunately I own quite a few suits, and if the crisis occurs, I always put one of them on!
What are your best tips for putting together a perfect winter outfit?
Undoubtedly layering paired a knit of some kind. A pair of jeans are always a good base to start out with, and then you can build an outfit from there. Similarly, a blazer, knit and shirt is also an amazingly good starting point.
Are there any trends you currently love? And some you might hate / dislike?
It is undoubtedly checkered – in all different ways! It has been IN for the last 2 seasons and is continuing into the new season. And I’m crazy about it – my pinterest moodboard is also filled to the verge with checkered inspiration.
I don’t really know if there is a trend I don’t like – there are some trends I don’t bother with because it just does not suit me. But I’m easy to convince if you can rock it. Even though I can’t bear it myself.
