Tell me a little about yourself and why you decided to start a blog?

I started the blog in 2013 while I was beginning my second semester in Spanish and Communication at university. I had just reached over the 15,000 followers on my Instagram, and I could see that there were actually people who were interested in what I was doing, what clothes I was wearing and where I was going. I have always been good at expressing myself, which is why I also felt the need to write down my creative thoughts and ideas as well as document a little bit from all my travels in a blog.

I was born and raised in Aarhus and have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and business communication and graduated with a cand. ling.merc in business communication specializing in branding and influencer marketing in 2016. After that, I worked full time on my blog and had freelance photography and styling jobs on the side until I was offered a job at STYLEPIT in Copenhagen. Since I was always in Copenhagen for events and meetings related to my blog, I thought it was time to try something new. So I work part-time at STYLEPIT and the rest of my time is spent on my blog and Instagram, which is why I also split my time between Aarhus and Copenhagen.

What’s the key to taking the perfect photo for Instagram?

It is about lighting, angle, and patience. If you have bad lighting, you might as well drop it.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Seeing as I work at both STYLEPIT and have my blog, it means that I work almost 24 hours a day. I am B human, so I can easily work on my blog way past midnight. So the days when I have free time I shoot some pictures, have meetings, and go out to dinner with my blogger colleagues. If I am at work, I work from morning to afternoon, where I usually go to events after work. After that, I go home and relax and write on my blog and then watch some Netflix or see with my friends or my boyfriend, who fortunately is very much in Copenhagen because of his job.

What is a surprising part of your job that you think others do not know about?

How much I actually work, how much time you spend responding to emails and being in dialogue with collab partners, and how much I really say no to because I don’t want to compromise on what I stand for – even if I turn down a big paycheck.

Where do you get your biggest fashion inspiration (fashion magazines, social media, street styles), and why there?

I mainly use social media to get inspired as it is a quick and easy way to get inspired, but me. I’m also very much inspired by people in the streets, when I’m traveling and my girlfriends. It is Swedish influencers in particular that inspire me and they always have, as I think some Danish fashion bloggers become too hipster and tomboy-ish for me. I love the Nordic, feminine style with a little edge – and they are able to convey that our dear Swedish neighbors.

What are your best tips for putting together the perfect outfit?

Just put on something you feel mentally AND physically comfortable in – it shines through right away. Find something basic, but also something that stands out a bit and always get it a size too big than too small. Style is a very individual thing and if you are in doubt, always go for black. Otherwise, I would recommend a color that suits you. Red is nice on most and can make you look good on a day when you don’t feel like you look very good.

Are there currently any trends you love? And some you dislike?

I love colors, so I love that almost all colors are legal in the fashion image. Sweaters and puffy jackets. Well yes, puffy jackets and the lacquer trend! Both are super cool!

I wouldn’t say I ‘hate’ it, but I’m not very fond of the trend, where it looks like you’ve worn his dad’s oversized sneakers from the ’90s, which are also dirty. There is absolutely nothing fashionable about it.

Other than that, I’m also not a big fan of the small hat that doesn’t warm your ears. It’s a bit too hipster for me – if at the same time you have a pair of micro-tiny little sunglasses on that barely cover the eyes either because they are so small.
